Location, Location, Location

And watch out for popular areas like Karakoy or Moda in Kadikoy, these areas have lots of foreigners from Europe, and locals that speak english—but they might hit your wallet harder than the touristy spots in Sultanahmet.

Areas like Esenyurt and Beylikduzu are very affordable and have a high population of foreigners and African businesses, but its also far away from the center, so it might be harder to find jobs living in those areas. Taxi Prices in Istanbul
